A Savior is Born
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:10-11)
What are “good tidings” anyway? Well, it’s something that brings great joy to all people! It’s something that angels, and now men, can sing about and tell to others.
The Bible declares this about our Savior, that He came “To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.” (Isaiah 42:7)
It is sin that has put us in this darkness, it is Christ who can bring us out. I’ve been set free by His grace through faith, what about you?

The Most Wonderful Time
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. (I Timothy 3:16)
What a great mystery has been revealed unto us, God manifested in the flesh! Come to purchase us with His own blood, He condemned sin in the flesh, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death.
Let us hold this mystery in reverence and joy this year. A very merry Christmas to you all!
Something Worth Fighting For
I am not ashamed of the founding father’s of America. America has indeed sinned in regards to slavery and racism and a very bloody civil war was fought over it long ago. But we have a law of the land which is not racist, the Declaration of Independence, in it are the following words;
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. “
Although there were states and cities which did not abide by this, it is still the basis of law in our land and there are many who fought dearly for the titanic freedoms we’ve been given. John Adams, who assisted in drafting that Declaration of Independence said;
“Posterity! you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.”
Men like Adams, who were sinners, who needed to repent and seek salvation in Jesus Christ just like you and I need to, they paid a great price for you and I. I hope and pray that it will not be wasted effort.
The founders of our nation chiseled the Word of God on the walls of the highest institutions of our land as an acknowledgment that government is only a proximate source of rights, God being the ultimate source. The Socialist/Marxist system which threatens to overturn our nation does not acknowledge God’s authority, but rather believes that rights are bestowed by the government. If this is true then the government can also take them away, thus usurping the place of God.
Karl Marx understood the inherent source of rights and he said he did not like democracy because it was founded on the principle that every person has a soul, independent of any social order or class. Marx sought to strip people of any value unless they were a member of the revolutionary class.
But we understand the difference between the person and the class. A person is a being with a rational soul and therefore has rights given by God Himself. If we are honest to face the full implications of this principle, we will see that democracy can only work as long as people deliberately choose God as their individual ruler and submit themselves and their rights to Him.
